Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń Spółka Akcyjna is the parent company of all entities comprising the PZU Capital Group. PZU SA operates in the property and personal insurance sector. On the Polish market, PZU SA enjoys the longest tradition, prides itself on the broadest experience and is the largest insurance company, both in terms of revenues, customer volume, branch network, as well as the number of employed or cooperating agents.

A well-developed distribution and service network ensures easy access to the company’s branches for all customers, irrespective of their place of residence. The structure of the company’s organisational units is as follows:

  • Head office in Warsaw
  • Local organisational units:
    • Regional Branches,
    • Operational units – Inspectorates and Inspectorate Branches.

The head office supervises and controls the activities of local units. As the core of company management, the head office is responsible setting assumptions and vectors for continued company growth. As local units, regional branches implement corporate tasks within their designated area of operations. Inspectorates are operational company units, established to directly service insurance and claim settlements within designated territories.

PZU SA has conducted insurance activity as a joint-stock company since 23 December 1991, following reorganisation of the former Państwowy Zakład Ubezpieczeń (pursuant to the provisions of the Insurance Activity Act of 28 July 1990 – consolidated text, Journal of Laws, 1996, No 11, item 62 as amended).
