Mr. Matczuk has 20 years of practical experience, primarily in Polish and international financial institutions, including 12 years of experience in management and supervisory boards at institutions pursuing investments in infrastructure, private equity and venture capital (PFR, IFC, EBOR).
He has initiated and supervised equity and debt transactions with leading Polish companies (i.e., Cyfrowy Polsat, Grupa Clip, SK IET, PESA: Talgo, Heiterblick), financial institutions (i.e., Pekao, Santander, Velobank), and funds (i.e., Innova Capital, Enterprise Investors, CVI). He supervises PFR Nieruchomości, a company which pursues and manages institutional real property lease.
As the President of the Management Board of PFR SA, he was a leader of a complex organization that employs over 500 people, the mission of which has been transformed and oriented towards long-term investment, mobilization and value-building for shareholders. Thanks to him, IFC renewed its investment in Poland, growing the volume to USD 750M in 2023. At PKP Intercity, he implemented a PLN 2B investment plan and centralized project and process management within the framework of a market standard adaptation strategy.
He has extensive knowledge of the Polish financial, insurance and banking sector, including of the regulations, development gaps, activities in the corporate and M&A sector, as well as a vast network of contacts among domestic and international investors.
He majored in Economics at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and completed a postgraduate training course in sustainable business management at the University of Oxford. He has also taken part in numerous training sessions in the area of finance and banking, provided by IFC-World Bank Group, WIB and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
